SCIL is a training organisation, within Curriculum and Literacy, Education, Partnership and Skills part of Somerset Council, that supports all staff working or those wishing to work within the children and young people’s workforce (0-19), to ensure they are appropriately trained to meet statutory legislation and to be the best practitioners to support the best outcomes for children in Somerset and beyond.

SCIL Vacancies

Our range of courses is wide and varied and includes Continual Professional Development (CPD), Vocational and Accredited programme, Apprenticeships, Higher Education programmes – Foundation Degrees, BA Honours Top-Up Degrees, and Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Masters in Education.  Our CPD offer compliments and supports our apprenticeship, academic and accredited programmes these include Safeguarding, Safer Recruitment, Leadership and Management and can be delivered face to face or e-learning.
