Coaching for Leaders – Wednesday 8th December 2021 – Dillington House

Our one day learning programme will provide you with a clear understanding of what is required in order to maximise the benefits associated with coaching.  It will clarify how coaching can be used to support the professional development of all staff members, and above all, increase learner engagement.


You will be inspired by the practical advice and ideas on how to embed the coaching philosophy into your school.  You will learn the key qualities, skills and techniques required of an effective coach, and how to apply these in the coaching process.

The objectives of this course include:

  • To explore the difference between coaching and mentoring
  • To establish how coaching practices and methodologies can be used as part of an effective whole school intervention
  • To explore how coaching can positively improve the quality of teaching and learning
  • To determine the role of coaching in developing school leadership
  • To explore how to use coaching models to increase learner success and engagement
  • To understand how to make effective use of essential coaching skills such as active listening and curiosity questions
  • To recognise how to use coaching to retain, grow and develop your staff as teachers and leaders


You will be given a range of exciting and useful coaching ideas and resources which you will be able to put into practice in your school straight away.
